  • Continuity in Communication for Regional Coordination of Pediatric Disaster Response - Part 2

    June 18, 2025

    10:00AM - 1:00PM EST

Virtual Functional Exercise in conjuction with FEMA.

Partnering with the FEMA Region 5 Emergency Communications, The National Association for Amateur Radio (ARRL), and the local HAM radio networks, RV4K is conducting a 2-hour functional, pediatric disaster communication exercise.

In response to a SIMULATED pediatric disaster, a network of Children’s Hospital-based radio operators transmit logistical messages, information, and requests to and from RV4K partner hospitals. Amateur/HAM radio operators support pediatric network communications by covering gaps in radio transmission due to distance and physical barriers. This FE focuses on emergency communications between a regional network of children’s hospitals during worst-case communication conditions.
