About the Region V for Kids National Pediatric Dashboard: Pilot Project
The National Pediatric Dashboard (NPDB) is an emergency management tool that provides a single source of in-patient, pediatric resource information. The NPDB was developed to create a standardized approach to real-time visibility of pediatric specific assets across any hospital currently participating on the Juvare EMResource platform.
The goal of the National Pediatric Dashboard is to leverage the resources and expertise of children’s hospitals in collaboration with national partners to empower all healthcare systems and their communities to be prepared to provide high-quality, equitable pediatric care in everyday emergencies, disasters, and global health threats.
All hospitals can participate in the pediatric dashboard, even if they are not currently using EMResource. Registration and onboarding information can be found in the NPDB Pilot Project.
The Pediatric Critical Care Safety Net
The Pediatric Critical Care Safety Net initiative aims to transform pediatric emergency care during disaster and/or surge conditions. Its core objectives are to design a comprehensive pediatric dashboard, develop a tiered, trigger-based activation framework, and reimagine the pediatric critical care distribution model.
Region 5 Emerging Special Pathogen Treatment Center (RESPTC)
Since 2014, Corewell Health Butterworth Hospital and Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital have been designated as Tier 1 Special Pathogen Treatment Centers. In September 2022, Corewell Health committed to being one of 13 Regional Emerging Special Pathogen Treatment Centers (RESPTCs) in the nation, funded by a federal grant, to support the National Special Pathogen System (NSPS) in preparing the health care system, protecting the health care workforce, and responding to special pathogen events.
